Richard Prince UK Solo Show

Richard Prince's first major UK solo show opens in London at the Serpentine Gallery on Thursday. Louis Vuitton designer Marc Jacobs threw a pre-opening party for the artist. Running through Sept. 7, the exhibition, called Continuation, follows Prince's Guggenheim retrospective from last year.

The world's most expensive home has been bought in London for £80million.

The buyer of the large detached house in Kensington, South-West London, is thought to be Ukrainian businesswoman and philanthropist Elena Franchuk.

The sale crunches the previous high of £67million for steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal's home in Kensington Palace Gardens

contemporary art auction breaks records in London

A contemporary art auction raised 95 million pounds in London, Sotheby's tells AP.

Francis Bacon's "Study Of Nude With Figure In A Mirror", was bought by a private European collector for 19.9 million pounds, compared to its pre-sale estimate of at least 18 million pounds.

he auction had been expected to raise about 72 million pounds.

An ebay user is hopes to score £1,000,000 for a BANKSY - ORIGINAL on Portobello Road, London. According to the auction now at £25000, Banksy asked the owner of this apartment if he could graffiti the wall. The owner (Luti) asserts to have exhausted over £1,000 shielding the work of art till date.

Britain's most expensive house goes on sale

A house in Belgrave Square is set to enter the record books with a price tag of £90million.

The six-storey stucco house in Belgravia, which is nearing the end of a two-year refurbishment, is one of the finest residences in a square dominated by embassies and offices.

Land Registry records show it is owned by a Madeira-registered company, believed to be run by a Lebanese man.

The owner paid £6.87million for a 99-year lease in January 2005.

London’s Harrods hires cobra to guard $120,000 shoes

London’s Harrods has hired a cobra to guard a 62,000 pound (120,000 dollar) pair of ruby- sapphire- and diamond-encrusted Rene Caovilla sandals at their London launch.


A spokeswoman for Harrods admitted that the cobra had been hired strictly for Monday's launch of the shoe collection.

"The snake has now been returned to its owner," she said.
