    Largest New Jersey Condo Conversion Goes Full Service

    The Peninsula at City Place, the New Jersey Gold Coast's largest, $100 million condo conversion, is now full-service, thanks to the completion of three sleek lobbies and a 2,000-square-foot residents' lounge equipped with a billiards table, wet bar and full kitchen reports housing news

    "The Peninsula at City Place is a hip yet luxurious development where residents can truly live, work and play,” says Jamie Anthony, project and asset manager for Savanna Partners.

    In addition to the opening of The Peninsula's public spaces, the building, developed by Savanna Partners and Investcorp, now has a 24-hour concierge and free resident shuttle to the ferry to New York. The building also has elected a condo association board.

    diamond-embedded credit cards

    GK Power, a Seoul-based smart card maker and online game provider has developed diamond-embedded credit cards . GK Power started sales for the luxury cards to local and overseas banks last year. Recently, it signed a $175,000 contract with Dubai First Bank in September to supply 1,000 cards - worth 300 times more than conventional plain plastic cards - for the bank's most valued clients.

    Currently, BC's ``Diamond Card,'' Hyundai Card's ``The Black'' and Woori Bank's corporate cards are some of the local institution's using GK Power's high-concept cards.

    Ashera

    The Ashera, is like a mini-Leopard, spots and all, but it's really a cool blend between an African Serval and the Asian Leopard Cat bred with a domestic cat from Lifestyle Pets . Ashera can weigh up to 30 pounds, reports CNN.

    "They are very friendly, very affectionate," breeder Simon Brodie said.

    Ashera costs $22,000 (plus $6,000 for the premium placement option which will expedite kitten delivery by about six months) Lifestyle Pets has already sold several cats to customers around the world since the pricey pet was unveiled in May.

    Once an order is placed, the Ashera is hand delivered (the cost of delivery is approximately $1,500 within the U.S.) by a representative who remains on hand for a few days to answer questions and facilitate the transition. Asheras come fully vaccinated with a microchip identifier, a supply of kitty food and cat toys, access to an animal behaviorist and a year of veterinary insurance included.

    J.K. Rowling to Auction "The Tales of Beedle the Bard," at Sotheby's in London

    Author J.K. Rowling has launched a series of handwritten fairy tales linked to the Harry Potter book series.

    The new work, titled "The Tales of Beedle the Bard," was referred to in passing in Rowling's last book, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." Headmaster of Hogwarts school Albus Dumbledore gave the tales to Harry's friend Hermione, ABC news reports

    Rowling has produced seven copies of the tales, all handwritten with her own illustrations. They will not be published.

    All copies have all been given away by the author, except for one which will be auctioned at Sotheby's in London. The starting price will be $60,000.

    Tom Ford Aims to Block N.M. Oil Drilling

    Fashion designer Tom Ford has bought mineral rights beneath his Galisteo ranch southeast of Santa Fe in an attempt to protect his land from possible oil exploration in the region, AP reports.

    Ford paid the state Land Office about $84,000 earlier this year to purchase the mineral rights to more than 1,400 acres, according to Land Office records.

    "We are protecting our land by holding these rights," said Ford's attorney, Janet McKay.

Packaged inside a specially produced domed case, it consists of five 12-inch vinyl records, imprinted with images, that together contain more than 100 minutes of sound content--from audio experiments to unreleased songs, samples and spoken word pieces. Also included is a MINI Clubman "Vinyl Killer" record player: a battery-operated toy car, containing speakers and a needle. As the little car moves along a record's groove, it plays each track, acting as a fully portable record player and sound system. Beyond all this, the issue also includes two CDs with all of the sound content gathered digitally, as well as a booklet of credits and instructions.     MSNBC has a feature on the World's most expensive cruises. Ultra fab cruisers have waved goodbye to the Caribbean in favor of exotic destinations.


    “From a passenger perspective, our most expensive voyages tend to be in the Baltic,” says David Morris, Executive V.P. of Worldwide Sales and Marketing at Silversea Cruises. ”Many guests want to visit the Baltic, but the region has a relatively short cruising season. As a result, not much discounting is needed to fill the ships.”
