an especially elegant combination of stainless steel and glass, wmf's deluxe mill can either be purchased empty or with salt and pepper. it uses the same ceramic grinder as wmf’s other mills, and has an adjustable wheel to change the coarseness of the grinder. this item was designed by metz & kindler produktdesign and won both the red dot award and the IF award in 2001.

Alessi Cocktail Shaker

This cocktail shaker from Alessi is the epitomy of 1920's style. The design is a contrast of forms - it has a large spherical body and slender handle. It's made from polished stainless steel and forms part of the 'Alessi Officina' collection which includes their most sophisticated, experimental and innovative products, as well as small-scale and limited productions."

Priced within the $6k range, Gaggenau's RY 491-700 is a 36-inch unit with sensible technology. Refrigerator and freezer are combined in one space but separated with individual compressor units. No air exchange for ideal food storage conditions in both refrigerator and freezer unit. One large door (RB) or French doors (RY) for a grand display. Both with a fully expandable freezer drawer for the full view.

Porsche + Poggenpohl Kitchen

Porsche has partnered with Poggenpohl to design a Kitchen aimed at men.

"Our co-operation with Porsche Design enabled us to design a kitchen whose sleek and functional design language specifically addresses male customers," says the press release. As for actual design details? No-handle cabinets, aluminum finishes, hi-tech A/V system. Not sure what the male gender has to do with a lack of handles, but Poggenpohl's the oldest furniture brand in Germany, so we're sure they know what they're doing.
