 Audi is planning to break away from safe executive cars and launch a racing-inspired supercar reports Times UK Called the R8 after the car Audi built for the Le Mans 24-hour endurance race, it will have a choice of engines, one supplied by Lamborghini, which is controlled by Audi. The detuned version of the Gallardo’s 5 litre V10 will give the R8 about 450bhp. It is also expected to be available with a 420bhp V8 found in the RS 4. The first models are expected to arrive in showrooms in spring 2007 with prices from about £70,000, putting it in the same bracket as the Aston Martin V8 Vantage. posted by Momist

 Vertu has announced two handsets to get things off for their new Racetrack Legends series. The first two phones in a series of six which pay homage to legendary tracks are Monza and Silverstone. The phones are available in limited, numbered editions of 1,000 each and feature racing tread rubber details and a map of the track laser-etched on the phone.
